Super Visa - Insurance requirements
|
Applicants must submit proof that they have purchased Canadian medical insurance that:
1. is valid for a minimum period of one year from the date of entry to Canada;
2. provides a minimum of $100,000 in coverage; and
3. covers the applicant for health care, hospitalization and repatriation.
Applicants must also meet all standard admissibility criteria. There are a number of reasons why you can be found inadmissible, denied a visa and refused entry to Canada. 100% Refund of premiums in such case.
For the visa officer to determine whether the applicant is medically admissible to Canada, the applicant will also be required to undergo an Immigration Medical Examination (IME) prior to being issued a Super Visa.

In order to apply for a new plan, beyond the original 365 days, your client must have a current Immigrants & Visitors to Canada plan with GMS and must apply prior to the end date of that plan. GMS is in the process of modifying the online Immigrants & Visitors application to accommodate this change. In Canada officials now announced a new two-year, multi-entry "super visa" for parents and grandparents of immigrants settled in Canada. This move only came after high wait times for sponsorship of "family class" applications which had grown to an unwieldy seven years or longer.The rule states very clearly: Super Visa is applicable to all parents and grandparents of both Canadian citizens and permanent residents. The annual admissions for the past few years are about 250,000, which amounts to 0.8% of the Canadian population, which may be regarded highest in the world currently.The Government of Canada is taking immediate action to cut the backlog and wait times for sponsored parents and grandparents.

Parents from a country whose citizens are not required to have a visa to enter Canada are also eligible to enjoy the Super Visa’s authorized stay of two years. They may apply at a Canadian visa office and demonstrate that they meet all the requirements for the Super Visa. |
