International Student Insurance Canada
International students planning to study in Canada will now need a study permit with a few exceptions to this rule of permit. Those who will be completing a program or course in 6 months or less will not need a study permit during their authorized stay in Canada and Even though this permit is not a requirement for those individuals, it is still recommended that international students in Canada still apply for one of these permits and also since the initial first application for a study permit to Canada can only be completed at a Canadian visa office outside of Canada, therefore any individual who just decides to stay longer than setup 6 months will run into a few hurdles if they do not already posses a permit.
Further more the International students who are also some sort of foreign representatives to Canada or are the members of foreign armed forces are often exempt as well. To confirm that if you need a study permit in these instances, it is best to have a contact to your country’s embassy in Canada.
Medical costs which are incurred by foreign students are not covered by the government of Canada. Individual who will be an International student in Canada should purchase International Travel Medical Insurance or International Student Health Insurance.Unless an international student in Canada is a citizen of a visa-exempt country they will also need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) to enter Canada.
