Super visa for parent health Insurance
Last updated : 12/09/2025
In order to get a super visa, health insurance coverage by the Canadian insurance company as per IRCC requirements is a must. The Super Visa Insurance can be paid in full or in the form of monthly instalments with a deposit. Quotes are not acceptable. The coverage should be for at least $100,000 and valid for at least one year. Super Visa holders can use this insurance to pay for their medical expenses related to medical emergencies, sickness, and injuries. While getting a super visa medical insurance or visitor's health insurance to Canada, it is important to disclose any pre-existing health conditions. A pre-existing condition can be any illness, medical condition, or injury for which an insurer has been diagnosed before arrival in Canada. The common examples of such conditions are diabetes, a heart condition, stroke, high blood pressure, hypertension, etc. These conditions can be chronic or mild. Based on these conditions, the premium of the insurance can be changed. To cover pre-existing health conditions, these conditions should be stable as per the eligibility requirements of the insurance plan. The pre-existing health condition is considered "stable" if there is no alteration in the medication (alteration includes an increase or decrease in the dosage or change in the medication) or the condition is not worsening and no new medical treatment is prescribed or received within the stability period required as per the policy before the effective date.
